Well as you all know my name's Aaron Barocio. I've been involed in church all my life in one area or another. Growing up with strong Christian parents I had great examples to follow. Throughout my life though i didn't always make the best of choices and didn't always follow the example of my parents. God had plans though that I could no longer ignore. As Rascal Flatts put it in one of their hit song, "God blessed the broaken road that let me straight to you". At the end of my broken road I met my beautiful wife Gretchen at a church i was serving at. We both served together with the youth. After dating for some time we were married. Almost 13 months after our wedding we had are first son Isaac. Fourteen months after that we had our second son Levi. Life never seems to slow down, it only seems to get faster.
During the past 10 years on and off, I've had the privledge of serving at many different churches and meeting many fantastic people. With each experience and encounter God's made himself more and more evident in my life. Now I'm here at AFUMC. I've been serving with the youth here now for more than a year and been the youth director for almost a year. I feel blessed and privledged to have the opportunity to serve the youth at this church. I also have the honor and privledge of working with one of the best ministry teams I've ever been a part of. At Reality Youth we really are a family. It's my goal as the youth director to create that same environment for the youth and do exactly what our mission statement says, to inspire and equip our youth to be leaders of our future generations. Its my prayer that as we grow, we'll see our youth stepping out, stepping up and making choices to go deeper in their walks and relationships with God. I also pray that this is a place where they can come feel welcomed, accepted and appreciated for who they are. Last I pray that through their time here, the friendships and bonds they make will last a lifetime.
